Stills from Chris Kraus’ Gravity & Grace (1996). Especially notable in the first half, beyond the exquisite oddity of the UFO cult plotting, are some of the typographic overlay effects that comment on and impose themselves over the action.

Showing one last time, Friday, January 18 at 7:30, but watch for more Chris Kraus with a shorts program in February and more to come soon!

whoa, this looks wonderful. I can’t wait!

I want to see this!

intrigued!

Please save the Hollywood Theater! If this theater doesn’t get a digital projector, they will be forced to go dark.
That means no more shadowcasting Rocky, which is one of the highlights of my life. This is also the theater Stephen Chbosky went to to get his Rocky fix and the one featured in the Perks of Being a Wallflower
We need $70,000 for this projector, so please, donate what you can. This theater is the home of many, including myself. It is such a beautiful place and so many memories were made here. I don’t know what I’ll do if they are forced to close.
Please, help out, spread the word, and donate. Every penny is appreciated.

Please signal boost and/or donate~!!!

My Rocky shadowcast at Sarah Lawrence almost had to cancel a few times because of similar projector troubles, and it’s so awful to think of people losing that kind of community because of such an issue!  Please help them out!

The first time I saw Rocky, one of the managers of the theatre I went to gave a speech before the show that had the sentence, “This is Mr. Roger’s fucking neighborhood; we love you just the way you are.”  I was probably sixteen.  I cried a lot; I think that puzzled people.

My review of Transamerica is featured in Bitch Flicks today!

In this review I rant endlessly about how shitty the movie is!  Be forewarned.
